What's included in an LMS subscription?
A fair LMS subscription should bundle far more than login access. Confirm these are included before you sign:
- Hosting and uptime — the vendor runs the servers; you don't.
- Automatic updates — new features and security patches at no extra cost.
- Support — real help when something breaks, not just a knowledge base.
- Core features — course building, assessments, certificates, reporting, and mobile access without per-feature charges.
- Security and backups — data encryption, regular backups, and recovery.
- Data export — the ability to take your data with you.
The things often charged extra: setup, SSO, advanced integrations, and premium support. There's nothing wrong with paid add-ons — the key is knowing which side of the line each feature sits on before you commit. Ask for the inclusions in writing so "monthly price" means the same thing to you and the vendor.
